You never know what's going to happen with Brighton's Own Livingston Players. We've needed some serious help with our social media and other technical things. The good people at the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce (specifically Paula the membership lady) reached out to us and told us about the great Tech Highschools that exist at BHS and Pinckney High School. So we contacted the teacher in charge of the program (Matt!) and after a few emails, he found us an intern to work with us. He's a senior! and he LOVES THEATER too! How lucky can one group get!! He's a super techie guy and knows all about the things we do NOT know about! So without further ADO! Let us introduce NATHAN HABERLAND! Nathan is a NATURAL at all things computer and will be helping us to get in touch with our public and let them know what is going on with Brighton's Own Livingston Players. Twitter, Instagram, marketing, facebook, and all that stuff that we struggle with will now be in the capable hands of Nathan!! We are looking forward to his great ideas for our bookkeeping, and other things. It's gonna be like the SON we never had!!! We can't wait. Welcome Nathan! Can't wait to get our feet wet and join the techie generation! We'll keep y'all posted on how it's going, but you WILL be seeing changes to a lot of the things we do, and how we do them!
We're not worried about the lack of snow....we're too busy planning for the FAERIE PARTIES in May of 2016. For anyone with little ones 10 and under, they are going to want to get their tickets early for this event! As always, space is limited at the CoBACH and each attending child will be required to have a ticketed adult with them. Our numbers could grow to capacity if mom AND dad want to come for the fun. Faerie attire is not required, but we most certainly do encourage it! There will be glitter, wings, wands, choosing a faerie name, putting their name in the magic drawing to win a faerie garden of their very own!! This is gonna be more fun then snow could EVER be! We've already started getting calls for tickets, but they don't go up until April 1st for the two parties on May 14 and 15.
THANK YOU! MERCI! DANKA!
We have to give a big shout out to the girl scout troops from Hornung and Spencer Elementary Schools! Those girls worked so hard to be our Elves for the HoHoHolidays events in 2015! From making the posters, and wrapping gifts to chaperoning the little ones and helping with crafts, they were the best elves EVER! Thanks to their leaders and moms and dads for all their hard work. We hope they had as much fun as we did (and the little ones who saw Santa!!)
AND COMING UP IN JUNE!
We just put out the advertising for WILL ROGERS 'History Alive' in June! We have had such a positive response to our History Alive series, and this production will be as enlightening as the other have been. Will Rogers will come to our stage for four performances and again....we are already getting calls. The show dates are June 4,5,11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. 'Homespun and Common Sense' explains exactly what you will hear from this remarkable man! Fathers day is in June, and we can't think of a better gift for Dad, or Grampa than an evening at the CoBACH Center watching this show, and then a dinner-after at one of our downtown eateries! Just the way to say 'thanks' to your special guy!

January and February give us all a chance to take a breath after the holidays and plan for the upcoming year. The historical society has the full first floor covered with antique woodworking tools of years gone by! Be sure to stop by and see it. Meanwhile, the players are working fast and furious to plan for the new year. The SUMMARY OF EVENTS FOR 2016 will be in the CoBACH building next week for you to pick up, and it's a LOT OF STUFF!. In May we have the Downtown Merchants LADIES SHOPPING NIGHT on the 5th, and later in the month, we are having our FIRST EVER ANNUAL 'MILLPONDERINGS' (storytelling night) at the CoBACH. We'll be contacting all local high schools and inviting interested adults to participate for one night only. Young speakers will begin at 8:00 for one hour.....then the adults start at 9:00 p.m. This is a family friendly free-to-attend event. Five minutes of time to 'tell your true story'....... the theme of the evening will be announced in the summary next week! In JUNE our HISTORY ALIVE program will continue for 2016 with 'WILL ROGERS"......... what a great way to celebrate FATHERS DAY with your dad or grandpa! Will ROGERS was the most celebrated journalist and humorist of his time. His observations on the human condition will make you laugh and think REALLY HARD! OPEN MIC will be back during the BBQ and Blues fest......and our first ever FAIRIE PARTY will be in May also!! Keep checking back with this website for additional information as plans are finalized. Online tickets will be on sale about one month before each event. Oh yes....did I mention that WILL ROGERS AND MARK TWAIN will be appearing together in OCTOBER, just in time for some insightful dialog about the upcoming elections! You won't want to miss them TOGETHER AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME in October! Don't forget to join Brighton's Own Livingston Players for the 2016-2017 season. You can enroll on line and pay with pay pal any time. If you are a first time member (never ever joined before) you can join for the first year for only $10.00. What a deal!
I hope you got to stop by the CoBACH building during December and the HoHoHoliday event! What a great year. We had more sell out dates than ever before. Families came to see the puppet show, sing songs with Santa and make a fun craft while waiting to have their own visit with Jolly Ol Santa! Santa saw many little friends from last year, and greeted them by name. For the first time in many years we had a full ELF corps (thanks to the local Girl Scout troops). Elves make the event so much more fun. We are already planning for next years HoHoHolidays celebration in December 2016. It can only get bigger and better (but our space is limited at the beautiful Historic CoBACH building). We can only hope that this main street event that we present each year brings as much joy to our community and all the little ones as it does for us! We are so looking forward to a New Year that is full of events and such that will bring first class entertainment to the Brighton community. Thanks to all of you who came to support us with this event and all the other 2015 events that you attended. We hope the on line tickets are a welcome convenience for you. Have a safe and prosperous New Year in 2016!
Our fifth annual HoHoHolidays at the CoBACH building is scheduled for DECEMBER 5,6,12,13,19 and 20th. Mark your calendar now, and user our convenient ON LINE ticketing to purchase your tickets before they are gone. This annual event offers an afternoon of fun, geared to the 8 and younger group. They will make a craft, hear a story, see puppets, meet with Santa's elves and have a personal visit with Santa himself in an unhurried, no-line, one on one visit experience. Our elves will interact with your child, and pose for photos with you so that you can get that perfect photo for your keepsakes! The event is each weekend during December (before the holiday). We begin at 3:00 p.m. and you can expect to be done by 5:00 at the latest. Tickets are required for each human that enters the building (except for non walking babies - they are free). Each child MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult that will work on the craft with them and help with their Santa experience. Why travel all the way to the mall when you have a Santa event right on MAIN STREET BRIGHTON! You can try for tickets at the door, but we cannot guarantee we will have room. Reserve your space by purchasing your tickets on line starting November 1, 2015. We'll see you there!! It's going to be a great time for the whole family!
