2017 arrives and we are ready to roll!

HoHoHolidays Returns for the 8th season! 

Don't miss the annual HoHoHolidays at the Historic CoBACH building in December!   This event is a sellout every year, and it's a favorite of those who attend.   Without the long lines at the Mall, and all the parking problems of going to the city, you can experience a hometown Christmas experience in just two hours with us on a Saturday or Sunday!  Starting at 3:00 each day, you and your child will expereinece ELVES!, Puppets!, a story time, and a personal visit with St. Nick himself (and a great photo opportunity!   Your child will get one on one time with Santa in his very special chair,a nd be able to tell SAnta exactly what they want.  You can take all the pictures you want, and then go on to make and take a fun holiday craft to remember your visit by!   Space is limited, and each child attending must be accompanied by a paid ticketed adult.  You will want to mark your calendar to be sure not to miss this fun event. 

Mark Twain and Will Rogers on stage in "politics as usual"

Join us for another outstanding 'History Alive' presentation, October 14,15,22,and 23rd. at the historic CoBACH Center at 202 W. Main Street in Downtown Brighton,MI.   Once again these two beloved American humorists will tell it like it is.   They will enlighten you about politics in our day today and as it was in their 'time'.   You may never look at politicians the same after seeing these two on stage together for the first time!    Don't miss this performance.  It's family friendly, and local theater for your enjoyment.   Tickets are on sale now on this website under the 'PURCHASE TICKETS' section.    Tickets will be sold at the door (as available), so advanced ticketing is recommended.   Be sure to get your tickets soon.   Our 'History Alive' presentations have been very well received by our audiences......Molly Brown, Mary Todd Lincoln, and now Will Rogers and Mark Twain  have all been on our stage over the past few years.  This 'family friendly' presentation will delight young and old.  Don't miss it! 

 

Annual OPen MIC night returns - sept. 10th

For the fourth year in a row, we will be holding our Annual OPEN MIC night during the popular Downtown BBQ and Blues Fest on Main Street.   Held at the beautiful historic CoBACH building (sideways across the street from the Yum Yum Tree Ice Cream Parlor) the fun begins at 8:00 p.m. with sign up for the 10 spots for musicians.  Featuring all ACOUSTIC music, this Family Friendly FREE event is a fun way to take a break from the hub bub of the festival and come sit and enjoy local talent for a few hours.    Musicians sign up for a three song set, or 15 minutes  of stage time.  Once signed up, their name goes into the hat for a drawing for $100.00 at 11:00 p.m.!   You must be present to win (but who would leave with all that talent!)....and there will be some fun prizes for the second and third place lucky draws as well.  Brighton and the surrounding area is a wealth of talent and we are pleased to draw some of the best to this fun event.   Our sign up sheet fills up quickly, so don't miss your opportunity to be part of the 'talent' pool on Saturday, September 10th.  Sign up begins at 8:00 p.m. and the show begins promptly at 9:00 p.m.   Bring the whole family and have a seat for the best free show in town!   

WILL ROGERS 'Home-Spun - Common Sense'

Don't miss your opportunity to see 'WILL ROGERS' on our stage, June 3,4, 10 and 11th.  Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are still remaining for a number of the performances.   Our HISTORY ALIVE series has been very well received, and we have every expectation that this production will continue that feeling with our patrons!   Will Rogers was a man ahead of his time.   He was one of America's originals pundits and had an opinion on just about everything.   His radio shows and his appearances were coveted as a very valuable entertainment for everyday people and celebrities.  Mark Meyers will be performing this play in two acts, bringing this character to life.   Written and directed by Patrick Tucker, you will be transported to a simpler time and place and Will Rogers takes you back in time.   Come to the theater, and enjoy your time with us.  Tickets are available on this site for just $10.00.  You can use your own credit card or convenient Pay Pal to purchase your tickets.   Our History Alive series tickets go fast.  Don't miss your opportunity to be a part of this theater worthy presentation. 

 

FAERIE PARTY fun

If you and your child would love to have some magical fun and fantasy, be sure to stop in the CoBACH building on Saturday or Sunday, May 14 or 15th at 3:00 p.m. for our first ever FAERIE party.  There will be fanciful stories, fun decorations, crafts to make and take home, a chance to win a real FAERIE GARDEN (each day one will be given away!).....and have some fun!   There will be glitter and FAERIE doors galore, and hopefully some of our attendees will 'dress to the occasions' (not required....but encouraged!)...  Tickets are on sale right now on this website for just $5.00 each (children must be accompanied by a paid-ticketed adults).   You won't want to miss this fun event.  Brighton's Art guild will have faerie paintings on display, and there will be plenty of faerie doors to see (have you seen any around town?)  There will be tickets sold on line.....for your convenience  and SOME will be sold at the CoBACH building (Tues - Friday 5-8:00 p.m.)......and at the door the day of the event if there are any left!.  Don't miss out on this FAEIRE FUN time for you and your child.   We look forward to seeing you there! 

LIVINGSTON PLAYERS ON BOARD FOR 2016

Brighton's Own Livingston Players are working fast and furiously to present a great lineup of events for 2016.  Our SUMMARY OF EVENTS 2016 should be at the historic CoBACH building this week for you to pick up if you are in the vicinity.  Or just check out information on our FACEBOOK page and follow us on Twitter!   We begin in May with our first ever Fairie Party at the CoBACH on May 14 and 15th.  Advance tickets will be on sale on this site, and the link below will take you to the convenient on-line ticket office.   Tickets will go fast, and we can't give you any of the details to spoil the surprise, but lets just say that there will be glitter and fairies for all to enjoy.  Until then, while you're walking around downtown.....look DOWN.....you may start to see fairie doors around Livingston County!   If you have a little one in your life that is delighted with the lore and stories of fairies....you will want to attend this event!  

Earlier in May, you'll want to stop by the CoBACH building the FIRST thursday of the month from six to nine in the evening to party with the Players at the CoBACH during the spring Downtown Merchants Ladies Shopping Night.  This twice yearly event is always a blast, and you can count on Brighton's Own Livingston Players to have a great party going on that night.  Stop by and get your selfie with one of our celebrities that will be there that evening, and sing some Karaoke with the ladies shopping all the bargains in Main Street in Downtown Brighton that night!  We'll have giveaways and refreshments to keep up your strength while shopping.  

Later in May on Saturday, May 21st we will host a free-family-friendly event at the CoBACH called 'MILLPONDERINGS"...... similar to the well beloved 'moth-story-telling' this evening will provide stage time for each participant to speak for their five minutes (no notes or prompts allowed).  The theme of the evening will be announced closer to the event, but we will devote the 8:00 pm to 9:00 to our young adults who would like to participate....  at 9:00 p.m. the adults take over.  We will have a guest panel of judges that will award the winner of the evening in both categories.  This event should appeal to any students that enjoy public speaking, or those who just feel a need to tell their 'story' live on stage.    Our patrons and audiences have been asking for something like this for a while, so we are pleased to be in the planning stages of making this a reality.  Watch our posters around town, and notices in the LIVINGGSTON DAILY PRESS and WHMI community calendar for scheduling and notifications.    

Hold on to your hats for June!  With fathers day coming up, we know you'll be looking for that special gift for dad or gramps.  Brighton's Own Livingston Players will be presenting the fourth installment of their very popular 'History Alive' series with an appearance on our stage of 'Will Rogers'.   You'll be entertained with the 'plain talk and common sense' of this American Icon!   Sit for a spell and enjoy the personal observations of a man who knows what's going on, and can speak to the human condition like no other!  Will Rogers will return in the fall in October along with Mark Twain for four performances with both of them on stage in one performance.  If you haven't had enough election rhetoric by then, these two will be able to put it into perspective for you.  Nobody tells it like it is like these two, and we look forward to them being 'Together Again, for the very first time'..... 

We will be having our annual OPEN MIC MUSICAL NIGHT during the downtown BBQ and Blues festival in Sept.   and as always,you can plan to attend our Santa HoHoHoliday party in December.
